Welcome to the World: Alexander Edison Shih
On March 20, 2010 at around 5:45pm, Alexander Edison entered our world! My 1st cousin, Rachel gave birth to him at the St. Joseph of Orange Hospital and I was fortunate to witness this miricle of life. Of course I couldn’t resist bringing my camera! It’s my way of telling Alex (he may go by Xander, btw) that he better get used to my camera! He came out wailing with the cutest cry ever. He was a little guy– only 20″ and 6lbs and 1oz.
Congratulations to my cousins Rachel & Eddie and their 2 year old daughter, Claire, for their newest addition to their family! I am so excited to capture him at 11 days old in just a few days.
Kelli + Justin | Laguna Beach Engagement Session
Kelli and Justin’s love for each other inspire me to be creative. It was magnetic!
On March 13, 2010, I met them down in picture-perfect Laguna Beach. We had a TON of fun– from shooting in Pacific Edge Hotel’s lobby, Wahoo’s Restaurant (famous for their fish tacos– yum), deserted alley ways, European-looking cafes, my favorite plant nursery called Laguna Nursery, and ending on the white-sandy beach at sunset. Justin and Kelli are from Seattle and are getting married in Laguna on 10/10/10. Unfortunately, I am not available to photograph their wedding. I’ll be in ITALY photographing another wedding. I am stoked about that, but bummed the two weddings are overlapping.
Thank you Kelli and Justin for thinking of me to capture your pre-wedding love! I had a fantastic time doing so. Hope you enjoy these photos for a lifetime!
Peyton is 3 months
During my short and busy time in Seattle, I got a last minute call from Peyton’s mom, Jen, asking if I could squeeze them in for a photo session. I scheduled the shoot during the day I left– Monday, March 8, 2010. It was the perfect session to wrap up my 7 shoots/6 days in Seattle. Peyton was full of giggles with adorable personality! We shot at my parent’s condo in Edmonds. They have awesome wrap around windows to work with– stunning light! It was overall a fantastic shoot.
I just love babies! Congrats Jen and Kevin on your first daughter. I look forward to seeing you all again soon! Here are a few of my most favorite images from this session. Thanks for lookin!
Vinson Family at Seward Park in Seattle
While photographing families, I love having overcast days– there’s a natural softbox (light diffuser) overhead! Well, on March 7, 2010, it was just one of those days. I was able to control the light and have more photo locations within the Seward Park! The Vinsons are such a NICE family. I went to high school with Rochelle and hadn’t seen her in 10+ years! It was so nice to connect again and to meet her awesome hubby, Steve, and darling children. I ended the shoot by taking a few headshots of Rochelle for her new nanny placement business called Nanny Pros Inc. Once she gets a new website, she’ll be adding some of my photos and her headshots. I am looking forward to seeing the new site!
Thanks for a GREAT shoot, Vinsons. I look forward to seeing you more. Below are a few of my favorite shots from our session. Enjoy!
Brooke + Jake | Seattle's Pike Place Market
On March 5, 2010, Brooke, Jake and I headed down to Pike Place Market in Seattle for their FUN engagement session. We had a great time weaving in & out of the tourists and market shoppers. The weather was ideal and Brooke and Jake were super easy and fun to work with. My favorite shots come from shooting against the gum wall in Post Alley and underneath all the fluorescent brightly lit sign-age throughout the market. I’m very excited to be photographing their August wedding in Leavenworth, WA at the Pine River Ranch.
Congrats to you both and see you again in a few months!
Collin turns ONE
Last week, I was up in Seattle and had a photoshoot with the darling Mckeon family at their home. Their son, Collin, had just turned one-years-old, so the timing of this photoshoot was perfect. It was a crisp, sunny day throughout the 90 minute session. This is very rare for Seattle– I mean, no rain?! Really?! I think the Los Angeles sun may have followed me to Seattle as it was pouring in Southern California for parts of the time during my 6 day visit.
Collin is a very curious little boy. 90% of the time he was distracted by the noises of the trains chugging by and by the sites and sounds of planes and birds overhead. You will see him pointing and looking up a lot in the photos below. And, of course, he’s loving walking. The session captured his adorable personality so nicely. We ventured around the house and took a little jaunt down to the beach under the railroad tracks. I love when there’s a nice variety of backdrops within walking distances.
A big thanks to Collin’s grandparents for purchasing a gift certificate through me during the holidays! This was a fantastic shoot. Below are some of my favorite images from the session. Enjoy…
Liz + Casey Engagement Session | Edmonds, WA Waterfront
HELLO, hello, hello!!! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted a photo blog entry. I am absolutely thrilled to have Liz & Casey’s engagement session to be my first big blog post of the year. We went to my old stomping grounds of Marina Beach in Edmonds, WA to capture the love they have for each other. We had the most amazing weather anyone to ask for. It was simply, “An EDMONDS kind of day!” I am very proud to say that I grew-up near here.
From eating chocolate ice-cream, balancing on beach drift wood, hanging out in a nautical-like window, to walking their adorable dog and fishing off the pier, this shoot was a dream for me. I just LOVE lifestyle shoots. Their wedding has a nautical theme so Edmonds was a perfect location for their engagement session! I will be photographing their wedding on Whidbey Island, WA in August 2010.
Congrats you two. I hope you enjoy these sneak peaks!!!
