New York – Colombian/Dominican Winter Wedding

This past December, I flew cross country to New York to photograph Manny & Belkys wedding. We had been talking about this for a year and had actually never met until they picked me from the airport. I felt like I had known them for a long time, so it was that much more special meeting them in the 3-d.

On the 10th of December, their closest friends and family gathered together at Our Lady of Peace church in Flushing, New York to witness their commitment to each other during a Catholic mass ceremony. Everything was in Spanish. I don’t speak it, but I felt the love and happiness in the room and loved capturing the wonderful moments. The reception didn’t start until later that evening – typical Latin time! Everyone celebrated in full-force at a very cool Long Island studio loft called The Empire Suite at Studio Square. Their family surprised them with a live and rockin’ Colombian Musician group called Huepa-Je. With the combination of MC/DJ, Ricardo Zepeda, and these musician, everyone ate, drank and danced, til the wee- hours of the morning. I especially loved ‘the crazy hour’ where everyone got dressed up in Carnival style masks, beads and hats.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Belkys & Manny, for flying me to New York to capture your wedding. I had a GREAT time! Congrats again and again.
