A Nautical Wedding {Liz & Casey}
August 14th, 2010 was an awesome day. Liz & Casey got married! They chose a beautiful venue on Whidbey Island in Washington State called Captain Whidbey Inn. They have a love for the water, boats and fishing, so they chose to have a nautical theme.
Their first glance was at Fort Casey Lighthouse. We had sunshine and blue skies all around and their excitement for seeing each other was contagious.
The ceremony was unique and super cool. Casey, the groom, and his boys, left out on a ‘pirate’ boat an hour prior the ceremony. Right before the ceremony began, the guys sailed in and the guests were standing in anticipation. Tiger Budbill, the rockin’ DJ, cued the Pirates of Carribean theme song, ““Yo Ho, Yo HO! A pirates life for me.” It was perfect! Liz looked ravishing as she walked down the isle and the entire ceremony was so heartfelt. They had their guests fill out notes of wisdom to put in a large glass jar so Casey and Liz can read at a later time. Think, “Message in a Bottle!” So creative.
A special thanks to my awesome photography assistant, Alex Grümmer!
Overall, I had a fabulous time capturing Liz & Casey’s wedding! Congrats you two. I wish you a lifetime of love, friendship and happiness.

Jennifer & Jon | A Wedding Celebration | The Athenaeum
On August 8, 2010, New York couple, Jennifer & Jon, were happily married at The Athanaeum at Cal Tech in Pasadena, CA. It truly was a perfect day. The weather was ideal. The details were aligned just right. The love between this couple was pure & authentic. I had a fantastic time capturing every fleeting moment, from the Ketubah signing, the exciting hora, to Jon romantically singing a heartfelt and talented, Bright Eyes rendition of “First Day of My Life” for his stunning, new bride. Jon’s surprise to Jennifer definitely gave me happy chills.
The Cowling Band was unreal. They did old and modern day cover songs like I’ve never heard before. Everyone danced the night away thanks to the band’s talent and fun energy!
A huge thank you to my good friend and fellow photographer, Leslie Talley for assisting and 2nd shooting. And, if it weren’t for the fantastic Kelly Demaray with Demaray Events the day would not have gone nearly as smooth. Kelly is a wedding coordinator rockstar!
Check out the slideshow I created by clicking –> www.nicolegoddard.com/jennifer_jon. I used one of my most favorite songs, “Forever” by Ben Harper to showcase their wedding love story. This just happens to be their SONG!
Congrats again and again to Jennifer & Jon. Cheers to many, many, many years of love and happiness. (list of vendors below)
